Cancellation & Refund Policy
This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, early termination, and refunds work for DMARS services and packages.
Effective date: February 12, 2026
1) Scope
This policy applies to DMARS service engagements, including (but not limited to) marketing retainers, website builds, e-commerce/Shopify setup, creative production, consulting, automation/CRM setup, and other professional services purchased online or via invoice.
2) Key definitions
- “Service” means professional work performed by DMARS (strategy, campaigns, setup, builds, consulting, etc.).
- “Project” means a fixed-scope deliverable (e.g., website build, Shopify launch, landing page, automation build).
- “Retainer” means recurring monthly services billed on a cycle.
- “Third‑party costs” means costs paid to others on your behalf (ads spend, domains, hosting, apps, plugins, tools, stock assets, freelancers).
- “Work commenced” means DMARS has started production or setup (kickoff completed, research started, access granted, drafts created, builds initiated, campaigns configured, etc.).
3) How to request a cancellation
To cancel or request a refund, you must email DMARS with your business name, the service/package name, invoice/order number, and the reason for the request. Written notice is required so we can confirm dates, access, deliverables, and any committed third‑party costs.
We may ask for confirmation that you have removed or revoked DMARS access to accounts (Shopify, Meta/Google ads, hosting, analytics, email platforms) once the engagement ends.
4) Refund rules (services)
Before work starts
If you cancel before DMARS begins any work and before any third‑party costs are incurred, you may be eligible for a full refund of DMARS service fees.
After work starts
If work has commenced, refunds (if any) are limited and are generally calculated as: payments received minus (a) work completed/earned fees and (b) any non‑cancellable third‑party costs.
Because services are time-based and often start immediately, DMARS does not guarantee refunds once production, setup, or delivery has started. This approach is consistent with standard agency cancellation policies where completed work is owed even if a client cancels midstream.
5) Retainers (monthly services)
Retainer cancellations require 14 days’ written notice before the next billing date unless your signed agreement states otherwise. Retainer fees are non-refundable once a new billing cycle begins, but you may cancel future renewals with proper notice.
If you cancel during an active billing cycle, DMARS will continue to provide services through the end of that paid period unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6) Projects (fixed-scope)
For fixed-scope projects (e.g., website build, Shopify/e-commerce setup, automations), cancellation after work commences may be eligible for a partial refund only if deliverables have not been substantially completed.
If you cancel after major milestones are delivered (design approval, build implementation, store configuration, integrations installed, launch prep), you may owe the remaining balance for work completed up to the cancellation date.
7) Non-refundable items
- Third‑party costs already incurred or committed (ad spend, subscriptions, apps, hosting, domains, paid assets).
- Work already completed, delivered, or in progress once work has commenced.
- Rush fees, expedited delivery fees, or change-request work performed at your request.
- Custom creative/production work after delivery of drafts, edits, or final files.
8) Rescheduling & pauses
If you need to pause a project, notify DMARS in writing. Pauses may shift timelines and may require a restart fee or revised scope if work must be resumed later.
If you delay approvals, access, content, or feedback beyond reasonable timelines, DMARS may adjust delivery dates or close the project as “completed to date,” with fees owed for work performed.
9) Chargebacks & disputes
If you have an issue, contact DMARS first so we can resolve it quickly. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may result in immediate suspension of services and revocation of access until the dispute is resolved.
10) Cancellations by DMARS
DMARS may cancel or suspend services for reasons such as non-payment, suspected fraud, abusive behavior, or material breach of agreed terms. If DMARS cancels for reasons within our control and we cannot deliver the agreed services, we may issue a refund for the undelivered portion of DMARS fees, excluding earned fees and any third‑party costs.
11) Refund processing timeline
If a refund is approved, it is typically processed within 14 days using the original payment method where possible. Bank processing times can vary.
12) Contact

Retainer / booking fee (30% non-refundable)
To reserve capacity and begin planning, DMARS charges a non-refundable retainer/booking fee equal to 30% of the total agreed service fee (“Retainer Fee”). The Retainer Fee is earned upon payment and is not refundable, including if you cancel before completion, except where required by law.
If you cancel after paying and work has commenced, any potential refund is limited to amounts paid above the 30% Retainer Fee, minus (a) fees for work already completed/earned and (b) any third‑party costs already incurred or committed.
